Aisin type WS ("World Standard") fluid is the factory fill ATF for modern 6- and 8-speed Aisin-Warner automatic transmissions, including the TF-80 and TG-81 used in many late-model Volvos. This fluid is also specc'd for some later 5-speed automatic AW50 and AW55 transmissions, such as in late S40 IIs, V50s, and C30s.
This fluid is a special low-friction, low-viscosity formula developed by Aisin-Warner specifically for their transmissions, and is not compatible with other ATFs such as Dexron III or VI.
